SEYAJ for CHILDHOOD PROTECTION is a civil society organization; independent; non-governmental and non-profitable; specializing in the promotion and protection of children’s rights. It was established in Yemen on the 5th of August 2008 under License No. 144/64 issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor of the Republic of Yemen.
SEYAJ focuses its efforts on poor and poorest areas and areas of armed conflicts and emergencies. It provides services to children, especially victims of violence, exploitation, neglect and ill-treatment, through direct coordination with the relevant governmental institutions and through networking with national and international NGOs, also through a network of trained volunteers in all governorates of the Republic. SEYAJ volunteers belong to various categories and occupational disciplines that have influence and direct relevance to children and their rights; they are members of many national and international protection networks.
The headquarter is in the capital, Sana’a, along with another office in Aden the temporary capital. It operates in all Yemeni territories through its offices and four coordinators in Taiz, Hodeidah, Marib and Hadramout.
