Today, the Taiz Governorate Condolence Court handed down a five-year prison sentence with enforcement against Moaz Sadiq, as well as one million riyals to the victim and two hundred thousand riyals in fines. It also convicted an accomplice to the crime to a year in jail and a fine of 200,000 riyals.

The representative of the organization in Taiz Governorate, lawyer Ali Al-Sarari, who provided legal support for the victim, confirmed that the family of the 13-year-old child welcomed the verdict.

Seyaj Organization thanks both the President of the Court, Judge Mujib Al-Sabaa, and the member of the Prosecution, Abdul Rahman Qasim, for their role in providing justice for the victim. When compared to Yemen’s protracted legal procedures, which typically compromise victim justice and reparation, the time it took to review this particular case was unprecedented.
