SEYAJ condemns the assassination of its member in Hajja SEYAJ Staff SEYAJ is strongly condemning the assassination that happened yesterday against Mohammed al-Rabo'ai, one of its staff in Hajja in Bani Qais District. Al-Rabo'i was a journalist and a dynamic human rights activist working with SEYAj in that area to advocate children rights. With deep condolence to the family and to all the colleagues of al-Rabo'I, SEYAJ is calling upon everyone to support the demands directed by SEYAJ and his family to the security agencies to arrest the perpetrators and present them to court. SEYAJ is also calling upon the General Prosecutor to arrest the rest of the perpetrators and it urges the judiciary system to quickly sue the doers and sentence them to the maximum punishment. Killing al- Rabo'i was a shock to the public opinion and it is the first incident when a journalist got killed due to his articles. This poses danger against people who are working in media and standing against injustice in the country. SEYAJ is highly appreciating the role of the security agencies in arresting one of the perpetrators and handing him over to the general prosecution. Still, SEYAJ supported the call by the Yemeni Journalist Syndicate to protest today to send a strong statement to the concerned authorities and forming a committee of lawyers to ensure justice in this case.
