A child killed and his brother wounded by a sniper in Taiz city this morning and SEYAJ demanding that those involved be brought to justice.

SEYAJ for CHILDHOOD PROTECTION condemns a Houthi sniper for killing a child and seriously injuring his brother in Taiz on Monday morning.

Testimonies from witnesses and security and human rights sources confirmed to SEYAJ that Saber Abdo Qaid Al-Smadi, 10 years old, was killed by a bullet in the head, which resulted in his immediate death and the injury of his 8-year-old younger brother, who is still seriously receiving treatment in one of the city’s hospitals.
SEYAJ condemns this heinous crime, which is an extension of a long series of systematic targeting of hundreds of civilians, mostly women and children, in Taiz city and continuously for more than five years.

SEYAJ demands that the incident be investigated and a legal case be brought against those found to be involved in the crime and to ensure justice for the victims and compensate them according to the law and prevents impunity for the perpetrators of these violations
