Displaced students – Ma’rib Gov.

The Convention on the Rights of the Child states, “every child has the right to an education. Primary education should be free. Secondary and higher education should be available to every child. Children should be encouraged to go to school to the highest level possible. Discipline in schools should respect children’s rights and never use violence.”

Article (8) of the Public Education Law in Yemen states, “Education is free in all its stages and is guaranteed by the state.” Article (18) of the same law stipulates that “basic education is general and unified for all students in the Republic, and its duration is nine years. It is mandatory, and students are admitted from the age of six, etc.”
