Childhood: the various stages of a person’s life, from birth until they reach the age of eighteen.

The Child in Yemeni Law: A child is defined in the Yemeni Child Rights Law No. 45 of 2002 as every human being who has not exceeded eighteen years of age unless they reach the age of majority before that.

The Child in the International Convention: The Convention on the Rights of the Child issued by the United Nations in 1989 defines a child as any human person under the age of eighteen.

Juvenile: A child over the age of seven and under the age of majority. During this age stage, they are considered deficient in criminal responsibility, meaning that adult laws do not apply to them.
