To mark World Day Against Child Labour, observed on June 12, 2008, the “Siyaj for Child Protection” organization launched its website. The organization’s president, Ahmed Al-Qurashi, stated that the website, comprised of several sections, would initially offer its services in Arabic. He expressed regret over obstacles that had prevented its launch in both Arabic and English. Al-Qurashi explained that preparations were underway to launch the website in English, which was expected before the end of the second half of the year. Designed by engineer Ziad Al-Alwani, the website would cover the organization’s events and activities, as well as address all matters related to childhood both within and outside Yemen. It is worth noting that “Siyaj for Child Protection” is a Yemeni non-governmental, non-profit organization established on August 5, 2008, specializing in children’s rights. Its founding was prompted by the increasing rates of child trafficking and smuggling in the Yemeni-Saudi border region of Haradh.
