The Siyaj Organization for Child Protection calls on the security and judicial authorities in areas controlled by Ansar Allah (the Houthis) to take the necessary legal measures against the killer of 11-year-old Asim Mohammed Hashem in the Al-Jundiyah area of Al-Ta’iziyah District.

The accused shooter is Ammar Mohammed Ali Al-Sururi, a member of Ansar Allah (the Houthis) in the district.

On August 20, 2020, the accused arrived at the wedding in a civilian vehicle and a military vehicle to extort money from the wedding party under the pretext that there had been gunfire the previous night.

Witnesses told the Siyaj Organization that the accused pointed his weapon at the wedding tent and fired directly, hitting the tent. One of the bullets struck the child victim in the heart, killing him instantly. According to initial information, the relevant authorities in the district arrested the suspect. We have not yet confirmed whether he is still in custody. The victim’s father suffered from a mental health condition prior to the incident, and no one is pursuing the case.
