Impunity for Criminals:

Most perpetrators of crimes against children escape punishment for many reasons, the most important of which are the following, which we as a society must not allow to happen. We must exert all our efforts to support the child victim because by doing so, we protect many children from falling victim to the same perpetrator or others:

  1. Family failure to report the crime for fear of scandal.
  2. Family failure to preserve necessary evidence in a timely and appropriate manner.
  3. Society’s failure to protect children who are victims of sexual assault and other serious crimes.
  4. Inadequate competence of some investigating officials in gathering evidence.
  5. Practice of Intimidation or enticement to force the victims’ families to drop the charges.
