The Taiz Governorate Improvement Office launched a campaign today to eliminate stray dogs that have proliferated in the governorate’s capital. This initiative comes in response to a call from the governorate’s Siyaj (Fence) office and its efforts with relevant stakeholders, following the death of 7-year-old Ismail al-Wasabi last Thursday afternoon after he was attacked by a dog in Al-Nour City, Al-Muzaffar District.

Ali al-Sarari, Siyaj’s representative in the governorate, stated that his meeting today with the governorate’s Director General of Improvement, Engineer Ghazi Ahmed Ali, yielded positive results in protecting children from stray dogs.

Al-Sarari explained that the increasing number of dogs poses a serious problem. He confirmed that security authorities are currently investigating the dog’s owner.
