An eight-year-old girl was shot in the head in Taiz on Monday evening, August 17. Security sources and eyewitnesses confirmed to the Siyaj Organization that a sniper fired a shot from an area controlled by the Houthi group, Ansar Allah, hitting the girl, Ruwaida Saleh bin Saleh al-Qafri, as she was fetching water near her home in front of the Saba Hotel. They asserted that the bullet originated from the Central Security Camp in the Kalaba neighborhood, which is controlled by the group and located north of the city. Medical sources at al-Rawda Hospital, where the victim was taken, reported that she is in critical condition and receiving intensive care. wp:paragraph –>

The Siyaj Organization for Childhood condemns this heinous crime, as it does all other crimes committed against the children of Yemen. It calls upon the Houthi group and all other parties to the conflict to refrain from targeting children and civilians in general.

Siyaj affirms that these war crimes do not have a statute of limitations and that their perpetrators will be held accountable.
