The Child Protection Organization (SIAJ) ranked 12th among organizations specializing in child and women’s protection worldwide.
SIAJ’s ranking within the Pixel Project recognizes its efforts in “serious humanitarian solidarity and impartial work in combating violence against women and children.” It is also the only Arab organization on this list, which includes 16 human rights organizations and networks from around the world.
Seyaj has contributed to combating child marriage during the current war through a protection program funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This program focused on strengthening local protection mechanisms, raising community awareness about the harms of early marriage, and providing legal aid and advocacy to victims. This was achieved through training and establishing women’s protection committees in areas with the highest rates of the problem in the governorates of Ibb, Hajjah, Al Hudaydah, and Al Mahwit. In 2013, Seyaj also produced the film “Painful Weddings,” funded by the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).
