On the occasion of the World Day Against Child Labour, marked on 12 June 2008, Seyaj Organization for Childhood Protection launched its website.
Seyaj President Ahmed Al-Qurashi said the site, which includes several sections, began by offering services in Arabic, while expressing regret that some obstacles had delayed the immediate launch of an English version. He added that preparations were under way to launch the website in English before the end of the year’s second half.
The website was designed to cover the organization’s activities and events, as well as childhood-related issues inside Yemen and beyond. Seyaj noted that it is a Yemeni non-governmental, non-profit organization founded on 5 August 2008 and specialized in child rights, initially established in response to rising rates of child smuggling and trafficking in the Yemeni-Saudi border area around Haradh.
