Seyaj Organization for Childhood Protection appealed to the prosecution office in Hajjah governorate to quickly complete the investigation into the rape of a twelve-year-old girl that resulted in her death and to refer the accused to the competent court through urgent procedures so that he receives a just legal punishment.
In its letter to the chief prosecutor, Seyaj said it was acting as a partner in supporting justice and child protection and asked that the case be expedited given the gravity and horror of the crime, in order to preserve the rights of the victim’s family and society and prevent impunity.
While thanking the security authorities in the governorate for arresting the suspect, Seyaj noted that the crime, which occurred in late August, had still not reached the courts. The organization also said it keeps the details of the victim and the accused confidential.
