Al-Tawasul Foundation for Human Development in Al Hudaydah screened the film ‘Imad’s Story’ during a workshop involving education leaders and male and female teachers as part of efforts to reduce school violence against children, with funding from Progressio UK.

The event focused on school violence and brought together representatives of civil society organizations, UNICEF, Hodeidah University, the Saba News Agency, the governorate office, the education office, school principals, and social specialists. A documentary produced by Seyaj in 2009 and funded by Save the Children was shown, addressing violence against children in school, at home, and in the street and its effect on children’s willingness to attend school.

Participants discussed the different forms of violence against children and concluded with recommendations including raising family awareness, strengthening educational and community awareness, involving religious leaders, and expanding the distribution of awareness materials through different media channels.
