Seyaj President Ahmed Al-Qurashi said during an episode of MBC1’s ‘Al-Thamina’ program on human trafficking that, if he were in the Yemeni prime minister’s position, he would resign after a report exposing child-trafficking gangs.
Al-Qurashi said it is a disgrace for any government to remain unable to confront crimes such as child rape, organ trafficking, displacement, and the buying and selling of children. He thanked the program team for producing the report, while adding that the ethical handling of children’s images is also important.
He argued that Yemen’s real stability lies not in weapons and wars but in raising and protecting a generation of children, warning that neglected and exploited children may later become vulnerable to organized crime, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, and other serious harms.
