A senior European Union delegation visiting Seyaj praised the organization’s efforts to ease the suffering of children and described its work as worthy of recognition and as a model for civil society organizations.

EU officials said they were proud to support Seyaj and intended to continue backing its work. They highlighted the importance of partnership with civil society and said Seyaj’s practical work in child protection represented the kind of role Yemeni civil society should play more broadly in development.

Seyaj President Ahmed Al-Qurashi noted that the European Union had been one of the organization’s most important supporters, especially in projects related to the rehabilitation of child victims of landmines and armed conflict, and expressed hope for continued and expanded cooperation, including in the demobilization and rehabilitation of child soldiers.
